We’ve missed you and are really looking forward to re-opening our doors and welcoming all our customers back to Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from you all over the last few months, and we’re delighted to see that many of you have been remaining active whilst on lockdown. We’ve been working hard to ensure our centres remain a safe environment for all when they reopen.
How to book and pay for your visit online
You have to have an account with us to be able to book and pay for your booking. If you have an Edinburgh Leisure card/are a member, an online account will already have been automatically set up for you. Simply go to our booking portal and click 'Forgotten password' if you do not know your password or haven't set one up yet. From there, follow the on-page instructions and you will be able to finish setting up your account with us.
If you don't have an Edinburgh Leisure card or are not a member, you can easily set up a Pay-as-You-Go account with us.
Once you are set up on our booking system, you can book either online or using our app.

We have introduced rules and measures to ensure that we can welcome you back into an environment that is safe for you and our staff. We all have a responsibility as a community to keep each other safe, and by following our guidelines we can do this whilst enjoying being back climbing. We hope you enjoy your session.

Climbing bookings, cancellations and no shows
Climbing session bookings
You can book climbing sessions online and on the App. If climbing is not included in your membership you must pay at the time of booking.
Online and App bookings open at 9pm. If climbing is included in your membership or you are a Discount Card holder you can book 8 days in advance online and via the App e.g. you can book on a Sunday at 9pm for a session the following Tuesday. If you are not a member or have a 10 for 8 card, you can book from 9pm, 7 days in advance online or via the App.
If you book sessions on the App you can add them to your calendar.
You can also check your bookings by clicking 'My bookings' on the App or you can check 'upcoming bookings' on the online booking page.
Arriving in time for your session
You need to have a membership/access card to swipe in your attendance for your climbing session at the arena gates. If you haven’t got a membership or access card, please collect one from one of the reception team on your next visit and allow extra time for this.
To avoid any incorrect No Show charges, please always use your membership card to swipe in.
Climbing session cancellations and charges
If climbing is included in your membership you can cancel your booking online or on our App. You can’t cancel your session by phone or in person in the venue. If you cancel your booking less than 3 hours before the session is due to start a Late Cancellation fee of £3 will be applied to your account. If you do not turn up for your booking or don’t swipe in a No Show fee of £3 will be applied to your account. We will email you the day after the fee is applied with details on how to make the payment.
Payment for any fees must be made within 7 days. Anyone who has an unpaid fee on their account for more than 7 days won't be able to make any new bookings until the fee is paid.
If you have paid for a climbing session, there is no refund and we will not move your booking if you change your mind.

What happens if Edinburgh Leisure cancels a climbing session?
If we cancel a session we will contact you by text or a phone call to let you know. If you have paid for your booking we will credit your account with the relevant number of Loyalty Points.
