The IRATA Training and Certification Scheme is a globally recognised rope access competence framework. It is a key qualification for staff working in onshore and offshore industry sectors including Oil and Gas, Renewables, Construction, NDT inspection, Maintenance and many more. Open up a world of new opportunities by booking your space on an IRATA course at EICA, where our experienced and friendly Instructors will 'show you the ropes' and help you get a 'step up the ladder'.

EICA Ratho is a trainer member of IRATA International, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. Our certified IRATA Instructors provide training and certification for IRATA technicians at Levels 1, 2 and 3 following the syllabus of the Training and Assessment Certification Scheme (TACS)

  • IRATA Level 1 is the entry level qualification which enables people with no previous experience to work under the supervision of an IRATA Level 3 supervisor.
  • IRATA Level 2 is open to technicians who have completed IRATA Level 1 and subsequently completed a minimum of 1 year and 1000 logged rope access hours in a variety of settings. It is a demanding course which covers rigging, rescues and some relevant legislation.
  • IRATA Level 3 qualifies a level two technician who has completed minimum of a further 1 year and 1000 hours of logged rope access work after qualifying as a Level 2. Level 3 is a comprehensive course which covers all of the Level 1 and 2 syllabus, and also includes advanced hauling, rescues and rigging, risk assessment, method statements, legislation, formal equipment inspection. A Level 3 is qualified to supervise any IRATA work site.

Please note - IRATA courses are physically demanding and take place at height. Candidates who are not physically fit or do not have an aptitude for work at height may be unable to complete the course. You will be asked to sign a medical declaration at the start of the course.

IRATA qualifications are valid for 3 years from the date of the assessment and full retraining is required at the end of this period. In the case of a technician completing no rope access hours for a period of six months, they should complete refresher training (this does not need to be a full training course). Please contact us if you need refresher training.
