This is where we will be posting any updates related to COVID-19 and our venues.

Following the most recent announcement from the First Minister, we can confirm that our indoor venues remain closed.  Outdoor non-contact sports such as golf and tennis are permitted provided this is within a single household group or the group contains no more than 2 people from 2 different households. For Edinburgh Leisure this means:

  • Our golf courses and will remain open (weather permitting). However the latest update from the First Minster means that for golf, a maximum of two players from up to two households can play at the same tee-time.  You can find more information on the latest guidance for golf on the Scottish Golf website. In order to update our systems to account for this latest change we had to cancel all bookings made from 6th – 12th January (with any pre-paid bookings being refunded automatically). Booking for golf tee times under the new guidance opened at 3pm on 5th January 2021.
  • Our outdoor tennis courts will remain open (weather permitting). Scottish Tennis guidance released on 06/01/21 states that adults and children aged 12 and above can only take part in outdoor singles tennis, unless all participants are members of the same household or extended household. This is in line with the requirement that only up to 2 people from 2 different households may participate in outdoor sport and exercise.  You can find more information on the latest guidance for tennis on the Sottish Tennis website here
  • We will continue will our pilot of live streaming fitness classes. Find out more here.

Due to current restrictions, we have closed all of our sports pitches, including those at Saughton Sports Complex. If you are a club who has a booking with us, then we will be in touch with you via email about what this means for you.
