An update on our plans for reopening

Following the First Minister's announcement on 29/10/20, Edinburgh has been categorised as Level 3 and current restrictions on Fitness classes (inc Aquafit), adult coached tennis classes and contact sports for Over 18's remain in place. An update on these restrictions will be given on Tuesday 10th November.

We’ve missed you and are so happy to be starting to reopen our doors and welcome all of our customers back to our centres. The positive feedback received from customers as they share how safe and enjoyable their experience has been with us has been hugely appreciated. We continue to follow Government guidance and work closely with sportScotland and NGB's to bring back more venues and activities in a safe and controlled way - all of which are a little different than before.

We are delighted that we have been able to open four more venues, joining the seven venues we have already reopened. The following venues reopened on 26/10/20:

Dalry Swim Centre

  • Swimming pool with lane swimming, family swim sessions and Aquafit. **
  • The gym will remain closed*

Portobello Swim Centre

  • Swimming pool with lane swimming, family swim sessions and Aquafit**
  • Gym
  • Fitness classes (depending on lifting of current restrictions)

Glenogle Swim Centre

  • Swimming pool with lane swimming and family swim sessions
  • Gym with relocated free weights

Warrender Swim Centre

  • Swimming pool with lane swimming, family swim sessions and Aquafit**
  • The gym will remain closed*

*Unfortunately, the gyms at Warrender and Dalry will remain closed due to the ventilation system not complying with the new minimum requirements (as detailed by the Scottish Government). The Turkish Baths, steam room, rest area and aerotone at Portobello Swim Centre will also remain closed at the moment.

**Aquafit classes are also dependant on the lifting of current restrictions on group exercise.

We are excited to be starting to reopen our venues. The below venues are currently open:

Ainslie Park Leisure Centre

Craiglockhart Leisure & Tennis Centre

Dalry Swim Centre

Drumbrae Leisure Centre

EICA:Ratho

Glenogle Swim Centre
